The wild life easily seen are antelopes especially the Topi, Bush buck, Common duiker, Oribi, Defassa water buck and Bofor reed buck, while the lake and lush fringing vegetation support healthy populations of buffalo, warthog, bush-pig and hippopotamus. Large herds of the majestic eland can also be seen roaming the park, impalas (which inspired the name of Kampala city), Burchell’s zebras (one of only three protected areas in the country where they can be found), sitatunga, Vervet monkeys, olive baboons, spotted hyenas, leopards, side-striped jackals, white-tailed mongooses, and three species of otters all call the park’s lakes home.

The park also serves as a grazing ground for Ankole cattle tended by traditional Bahima pastoralists. Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe International airport and transfer to Entebbe to see Wild life game at Entebbe Wild Life Center

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport where you will be met by our company driver/guide who will transfer you to Entebbe Wild Life Center.

The Entebbe Wildlife Center, also known as the Uganda Wildlife Education Center, is a conservation and education center located in Entebbe, Uganda. As You visit the center you can expect to see a variety of wildlife species, including:

  1. Primates: The center is home to several primate species, such as chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and vervet monkeys.

  2. Birds: There are over 170 bird species at the center, including the African grey parrot, shoebill stork, and the great blue turaco.

  3. Reptiles: Visitors can also see a variety of reptiles, such as crocodiles, snakes, and lizards, including the rare and endangered pancake tortoise.

  4. Carnivores: Lions, leopards, hyenas, and servals are some of the carnivores that can be seen at the center.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park via the Equator for a Wild life Game drive

Leave after breakfast early in the morning and proceed west to Lake Mburo National Park via Masaka district to view the equator experiment at the Equator, take pictures and later have lunch at Mantana Safari camp in Lake Mburo National Park and in the afternoon go for a game drive.

A game drive in Lake Mburo National Park offers a unique opportunity to observe a diverse range of wildlife species in their natural habitat. During the game drive, you will expect to see:

  1. Zebras: Lake Mburo National Park is one of the few protected areas in Uganda where Burchell’s zebras can be found. These beautiful animals can be seen grazing on the savannah plains.

  2. Impalas: The park is also home to the largest population of impalas in Uganda. These graceful antelopes can be seen bounding through the grasslands.

  3. Buffalos: Large herds of buffalos are a common sight in the park. These massive animals can be seen grazing or wallowing in the mud.

Day 4: Go for Birding and later a boat cruise on Lake Mburo 

Have Morning breakfast at your leisure then go for Birding and later boat cruise on lake Mburo or another game drive.

Lake Mburo National Park is a birding paradise, with over 350 bird species recorded within its boundaries. Visitors can expect to see a diverse range of bird species during a birding and boat cruise in the park.

During the boat cruise, visitors can observe a variety of water birds, such as African fish eagles, pelicans, herons, cormorants, kingfishers, and many more. The boat cruise is also an opportunity to see hippos and crocodiles basking in the sun along the lake’s shores.

On a birding excursion, visitors can expect to see a variety of birds, including African finfoots, brown-chested lapwings, Coqui francolins, emerald-spotted wood doves, crested francolins, and many more. The park’s savannah plains and acacia woodlands offer great bird watching opportunities. Visitors can also catch sight of the rare African-wattled lapwing, which is only found in a few protected areas in Uganda.

The best time for bird watching is early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when many bird species are active and easy to spot. Visitors are advised to bring binoculars, a bird field guide, and comfortable walking shoes for a successful birding experience in Lake Mburo National Park.
