Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: On arrival at Kigali Airport, Transfer to Parc Nationale Des Volcanoes, for 3 days Gorilla trekking in Rwanda.

We start our 3 Days Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda, upon arrival at Kigali airport where you will be warmly welcomed by our experienced tour guide and be transferred to the breathtaking Parc Nationale des Volcans. Your accommodation options for the night include the luxurious Le’ Bambou Gorilla Safari Lodge or the comfortable and affordable Kinigi Guest House.

After checking in and settling down, take some time to relax and soak in the stunning natural surroundings. You can go on a sightseeing tour to explore the park’s lush vegetation and beautiful landscapes, or simply unwind at the lodge and enjoy the tranquility of the area.

You will be served with a delicious lunch and dinner, and can expect top-notch service throughout your stay. Get a good night’s sleep, as the following day is an exciting one, filled with gorilla trekking and other thrilling activities.

Day 2:  Encounter Gorillas in Parc des Volcanoes or Volcanoes National Park

Have breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters where you will meet the ranger guides. When you are done with the briefing you will begin the gorilla trekking.

There are currently 10 habituated gorilla families that can be tracked in Parc des Volcanoes in Rwanda. These families are named as follows:

  1. Sabyinyo Family
  2. Amahoro Family
  3. Umubano Family
  4. Bwenge Family
  5. Susa Family
  6. Karisimbi Family
  7. Hirwa Family
  8. Agashya Family
  9. Kwitonda Family
  10. Ugyenda Family

Each family has its own unique characteristics, and you will have the opportunity to observe their behavior and interactions in their natural habitat. The gorilla families can vary in size, from as few as 7 individuals to as many as 39, and each tracking experience is unique.

The trek is quite tough and takes a lot of time approximately 2 to 8 hours. After the trekking, if we still have time we shall visit gorilla guardian village (former Ibyiwacu cultural village) or community activities at red rocks.

Day 3: Drive to Kigali for City Tour and depart from Kigali airport and end of trip

Start your day with a delicious breakfast before embarking on a city tour of Kigali. This tour includes a visit to the Genocide Memorial Center in Gisozi, where you can learn about the country’s tragic past and pay your respects to the victims.

During the Kigali City tour, you will have the opportunity to explore colorful markets, visit craft centers, and learn about Rwanda’s rich culture and history. After the city tour, you will break for lunch before being transferred to Kigali Airport for your outbound flight, marking the end of 3-day gorilla trekking Rwanda.
