DAY 1: Arrive at Entebbe airport and transfer to Jinja via Kampala for the start of your 7 Days Mountain Elgon Uganda Exhilarating Hiking Safari

Start your adventure in Uganda by arriving at Entebbe Airport and enjoying an early breakfast before heading off with our knowledgeable tour guide to Jinja via Kampala. On the way, we’ll make a stop at the enchanting Mabira Forest for an intriguing forest walk, where you can explore the lush greenery and listen to the sounds of nature. We’ll have a picnic lunch, and you can also witness the traditional dances performed by a local women’s dancing group.

The day is full of exciting options, including swimming, boat rides, and floating on the mighty and robust River Nile. Take a dip in the refreshing waters, marvel at the scenic beauty, and feel the rush of the rapids as you float along the river. After enjoying a delicious lunch, we’ll embark on a hike to explore the falls and take in the breathtaking views. As we trek along the trail, we’ll witness the spectacular beauty of the falls, and you can take a refreshing dip in the cool, clear water. Once we’ve completed the hike, we’ll return to our cozy camp next to Sipi Falls, where we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and settle in for a peaceful overnight stay. DAY 3: Hike Mountain Elgon following the Kapkwata Trail

Fuel up with a hearty breakfast before continuing our exhilarating hike along the Kapkwata Trail. As we trek through the picturesque bamboo, heath, and moorland landscapes, we’ll be treated to some of the most stunning views in all of Uganda.

After an invigorating hike, we’ll reach the Piswa camp at an altitude of 2850 meters. Here, we’ll enjoy a well-deserved break and a delicious meal, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the mountains. With breakfast, lunch, and dinner all provided, we’ll have plenty of fuel to keep us going as we continue our adventure on Mt Elgon.

DAY 4: Hike Mountain Elgon through beautiful columns of Lobelia Elgonensis

Wake up to a delicious breakfast before beginning your trek with your knowledgeable guide up to the stunning verge of the calderas. Along the way, you’ll marvel at the magnificent columns of Lobelia Elgonensis that adorn the landscape.

As we continue our journey, we’ll visit the incredible Hot Springs and Suam Gorge, two natural wonders that showcase the unique geological features of this region.

After a full day of hiking and exploration, we’ll descend to the hunters cave campsite, located at an altitude of 3850 meters. Here, we’ll relax and unwind, enjoying a delicious meal while soaking up the stunning scenery around us. Get ready to rest and rejuvenate, as tomorrow promises even more adventure on our trek through Mt Elgon.

DAY 5: Ascend to the top of the calderas to the Wagagai Peak at 4321m on Mt Elgon

Rise and have an early morning breakfast before embarking on another exciting part of your journey – the ascent to the top of the calderas and the Wagagai Peak, standing tall at an impressive 4321 meters.

As we climb higher and higher, we’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, a true highlight of our trip. After reaching the peak, we’ll descend through the Jackson Summit and the Jackson Pool, two stunning natural features that add even more beauty to our trek.

As evening draws near, we’ll arrive at our next campsite, located at an altitude of 3500 meters. Here, we’ll settle in for the night, surrounded by the serene beauty of the mountain. With a delicious dinner and cozy accommodations, we’ll be ready to rest up and recharge for the next leg of our journey through Mt Elgon.

DAY 6: Transfer from Mt Elgon to Kampala via Jinja for a city tour

Have early morning breakfast, and then descend through the Sasa trail to Budadiri then travel to Mbale town en-route to Kampala for a city tour.

Kampala city tour is an exciting way to explore the vibrant and bustling capital city of Uganda. Here are some things you can expect to experience on this tour:

  1. Historical and cultural landmarks: Kampala is home to numerous historical and cultural landmarks, such as the Kasubi Tombs, the National Museum of Uganda, and the Uganda Martyrs Shrine. On the tour, you can expect to visit these sites and learn about the history and culture of Uganda.

  2. Local markets: A visit to Kampala’s bustling markets, such as Owino Market and Nakasero Market, is a must on this tour. You’ll get to experience the vibrant energy of these markets and interact with the friendly vendors while shopping for souvenirs and local crafts.
